If a medical professional has given you, or not given you, medical treatment that was below standard expectations and you suffered an injury because of this and this was a foreseeable injury, you could define that as clinical negligence. Basically, a doctor treated you badly and you suffered as a result. If this scenario fits you, then obtaining legal advice and filing a complaint is your next step. The complaint procedure will then be described to you and then guided by a clinical negligence solicitor. If you are still hospitalized, the first complaint goes to the medical profession in charge. You then need to explain that a formal complaint is being made and ask for a response in detail. If unhappy with the response you get, then the hospital’s complaint manager needs to hear from you. If you have already checked out of the hospital, you will need to send a letter to the Hospital Complaints Manager and that should generate an appointment for a consultation. Here you will discuss your situation in detail and this is called the Local Resolution.
